Airportman.id – The government has issued several policies related to handling Covid-19 in Indonesia. These policies were conveyed in a virtual press conference (7/3/2022) by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

The first policy is to abolish the requirements for the Covid 19 test, PCR and Antigen, for domestic travelers, both land, sea, and air. However, this waiver does not apply to travelers who have not received the second or complete (booster) vaccination dose.

"Domestic travelers using land, sea, or air transportation who have carried out the second dose of vaccination no longer need to show evidence of antigen or negative PCR," said Luhut.

The regulation will be stated in a Circular Letter issued by the Ministry and related institutions in the near future.

"This will be stipulated in a circular letter that will be issued by the Ministry and related institutions which will be published in the near future," he added.

The next policy is easing the quarantine policy for foreign travelers. This easing will be carried out in stages starting Monday (March 7, 2022), piloted in Bali, and implemented nationally on April 1, 2022.

"Today, the President has agreed to be able to conduct a trial without quarantine for foreign travelers since March 7, I repeat since March 7, 2022 in Bali Province. If this trial is successful, then we will apply quarantine exemption for all foreign travelers on April 1, 2022 or sooner than April 1, "said Luhut.

The requirements that foreign travelers must meet include:

• Show proof of hotel booking for at least four days or show proof of domicile in Bali for Indonesian citizens.
• Must have received complete or booster vaccinations.
• Carry out a PCR test and wait in the hotel room until the negative results come out. After that, the foreign traveler is free to move freely while still carrying out health protocols and using the PeduliLindung application.
• Do the PCR test again on the third day at their respective hotels.
• Have health insurance that covers Covid-19.
• Have a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for foreign travelers from 23 countries.
• International events that take place in Bali during the quarantine-free trial period must implement health protocols in accordance with G20 standards.

To support the quarantine-free trial in Bali, the government continues to accelerate the second and booster vaccination.

"The booster acceleration in Bali will reach 30 percent in the next week. Currently, the vaccination dose for the elderly has reached 62 percent for all of Java-Bali," said Luhut.

And for the last policy, the government issued a policy related to sports competition activities in Indonesia. The public can already watch sports competitions but with a capacity according to the PPKM level that applies in their respective regions, namely 100 percent for Level 1, 75 percent for level 2, 50 percent for level 3, and 25 percent for level 4.

In addition, the requirements to watch sports competitions are having received a booster vaccination and using the Peduli Protect application.

"All sports competition activities can accept spectators on condition that they have carried out booster vaccinations and use Peduli Protect," said Luhut.

Luhut also said that the new policies were carried out using existing databases and were not carried out without calculation and in a hurry.

"All the policies in the transition process that we will go through together are not carried out in a hurry. We must be ready to go to a gradual transition process," he concluded.
