Airportman.id – PT. Angkasa Pura 1 (AP1) served up to 3.49 million passengers in January 2022 or experienced a growth of up to 17 percent compared to the January 2021 period, which served 2.11 million passengers at 15 airports managed.
Growth also occurred in aircraft movement traffic, which served up to 36,534 aircraft movements or grew by 8 percent compared to the January 2021 period, which served 33,708 aircraft movements. Meanwhile, cargo traffic in the same period also increased by 4 percent to 39,344 tons from 37,771 tons in January 2021.
In January, Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport was the highest serving passengers by serving up to 748,235 passengers, aircraft traffic up to 6,434 aircraft movements, and cargo of 8,384,110 kg. Juanda Airport Surabaya is the second highest airport by serving up to 715,861 passengers, aircraft traffic up to 5,538 aircraft movements, and cargo of 5,805,223 kg. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is the third-highest by serving up to 593,994 passengers, aircraft traffic up to 4,841 aircraft movements, and cargo of 2,151,703 kg.
"The average passenger movement at the 15 airports that we manage per day in January has reached 112,144 passengers/day or an increase of 44 percent compared to the average passenger movement per day in 2021 of 77,574 passengers/day," said CEO of PT. Angkasa Pura 1, Faik Fahmi.
As for the average aircraft movement reaching 1.133 aircraft movements/day, an increase of up to 23 percent when compared to the average aircraft movement per day in 2021 of 916 aircraft movements/day & the average cargo traffic reaching 1.302547 kg/day or an increase of 0.5 percent compared to the average daily cargo traffic in 2021 of 1,231,000 kg/day.
"We always urge prospective passengers who will travel to continue to comply with health protocols consistently, both at the pre and post-journey stages and comply with applicable flight requirements," added Faik Fahmi.
